Sony’s next God of War got its collector’s edition leaked early via PlayStation Direct — a $150-ish box with a statue, cards, and an art book. No game inside.
Leaked via PlayStation Spain / PlayStation Direct Europe before any official announcement; UK listing followed at £129.99. No US listing yet.
Contents: light-up resin statue of Faye with companions Phranque (the cube) and Rue (the ribbons on her sword), a 51-card Oracle Deck with bespoke art per card, and a mini art book curated by the dev team.
Releases February 16, 2027 — same day as God of War Laufey itself. Limited to 1 box per order.
The game must be bought separately — same split-box model as GTA 6’s Collector’s Box. Ragnarök’s Collector’s Edition was $199.99 WITH the game, so the comparison stings.
Laufey follows Kratos’ wife Faye in the afterlife, set during the events of God of War (2018) and Ragnarök.
Debate: Collector’s editions without the game — smart (pick your edition, digital or physical) or a scam charging full price twice? GTA 6 did it, now Sony’s doing it — is the game-less collector’s box about to become the industry standard?
