Bloober Team is sending players back into the nightmare. Cronos: Lazarus, the story DLC for the studio’s survival horror hit Cronos: The New Dawn, launches December 3, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, priced at $9.99. A Nintendo Switch 2 version will follow in the first quarter of 2027. The date arrived alongside a new story trailer focused on the expansion’s central face-off.
Lazarus is a prequel. You play as the Pathfinder, an agent of the Collective, and live through the events that led to his tragic transformation into the Warden — the figure players already know from the base game. Standing in his way is the Tracker, a relentless envoy dispatched by the Collective to hunt the Pathfinder down before he can complete a revival mission the organisation must never learn about. Defy the calling. Bring her back.

The expansion deliberately changes the pace of Cronos. Where The New Dawn built its tension on methodical, resource-driven survival, Lazarus pushes toward faster, more aggressive combat that rewards quick thinking and tactical precision. The Pathfinder’s new toolkit is built for that shift: teleportation for rapid repositioning, a decoy that distracts enemies while briefly rendering him invisible, and the Gladius — a faster, deadlier blade than the original game’s dagger.
The base game gives this DLC a strong foundation to build on. Cronos: The New Dawn was Bloober Team’s first original survival horror IP, built around a distinctive merge mechanic that lets enemies fuse into increasingly dangerous forms. It won three awards at Digital Dragons 2026, including Game of the Year, and recouped its development costs within nine months of release — a serious result for a brand-new horror franchise, and a clear sign of how far Bloober has come since its Silent Hill 2 remake.

If you have been waiting to jump in, the timing helps: the base game is 50% off during the Halloween season across Steam, the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, and the Nintendo eShop, with exact discount dates varying by platform.
Cronos: Lazarus launches December 3, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S for $9.99, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version planned for Q1 2027.
