If your weekend plans involved any of these, change them. At midnight tonight, nine games leave the Xbox Game Pass library — and this batch stings more than most. Microsoft confirmed the departures in its October 20 Xbox Wire announcement, and all nine are available on Cloud, Console and PC right up until they go. The one silver lining: Game Pass members save up to 20% buying any of them before they leave, and your saves and progress stay tied to your account if you pick them up down the road.
Everything Leaving at Midnight
- LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga — all nine saga films in one giant LEGO sandbox. It has been on Game Pass since December 2022 and is still one of the best LEGO games ever made.
- Deep Rock Galactic — the co-op dwarf-mining shooter has been on the service since November 2020. Nearly six years of “Rock and Stone.”
- Wartales — the gritty medieval mercenary RPG, on Game Pass since October 2023 and a very easy game to lose a hundred hours to.
- Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris — the co-op Tomb Raider spin-off, which only arrived last November.
- Wildgate — the space-crewing extraction shooter has the shortest stay of the batch, having joined in May.
- Dead Static Drive — the apocalyptic road-trip horror game pitched as “Grand Theft Cthulhu,” which arrived last November.
- Day of the Tentacle Remastered — Double Fine’s time-travel point-and-click classic.
- Full Throttle Remastered — bikers, betrayal, and one of the best adventure-game soundtracks ever recorded.
- Grim Fandango Remastered — Manny Calavera’s noir classic, and the late addition that turned this list from eight games into nine.

Double Fine Takes the Biggest Hit

Three of the nine departures — a full third of the batch — are Double Fine remasters, and all three have been on Game Pass since October 2020. Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle and Grim Fandango leaving on the same day closes the book on a six-year run for the studio’s classic adventure catalogue on the service. If old-school point-and-clicks are your thing, tonight is genuinely last call.
What You Can Still Finish Today
Not everything here is a lost cause. Full Throttle Remastered runs about four to five hours and Day of the Tentacle Remastered about five to seven, so both are beatable in one determined sitting today. Grim Fandango is a bigger ask at eleven to twelve hours — start it this afternoon, or just grab it on the member discount instead. Deep Rock Galactic and Wartales are effectively endless, so there is no finishing them tonight; if either one is in your regular rotation, that up-to-20% member discount before midnight is the play.
October Was a Rough Month for the Library
Tonight’s nine departures bring October’s total to 19 games leaving Game Pass against 17 additions — a net loss for the library, in a month whose first wave already took nine games on October 15, including Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. And the exits are not done: Football Manager 26 and Football Manager 26 Console Edition leave on November 10. If that news has you eyeing the new game, Football Manager 27 Is FREE Right Now is worth a look before its free window closes on November 3.
