Another week, another stack of new games hitting the Xbox Store. The year’s biggest shooter and Square Enix’s first HD-2D Final Fantasy headline, but the indies are doing the heavy lifting this week — hockey RPGs, cat-clan adventures, and the walkie-talkie co-op series’ biggest entry yet. Here’s the rundown.
The Notables
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 — Out Oct 23 — $69.99 ($99.99 Vault Edition) — Xbox Play Anywhere

Infinity Ward is back with a full Korean Peninsula war — campaign (early access started Oct 16 for digital pre-orders), 6v6 multiplayer, and the return of DMZ extraction mode. It’s the first CoD in the reboot era to skip old-gen consoles entirely, so this is the cleanest look yet at what Infinity Ward’s engine can do unchained. Final Fantasy Resonance — Out Oct 22 — $49.99 — Xbox Play Anywhere

Square Enix’s first HD-2D Final Fantasy rebuilds the Brave Exvius story arc into a proper $49.99 turn-based RPG — a test of whether pixel-art nostalgia can carry a mainline-style Final Fantasy. A free demo is out now with save carry-over.
Watch the official announce trailer:
We Were Here Tomorrow — Out now (Oct 20) — $19.99 ($17.99 with launch discount)

The walkie-talkie co-op series’ biggest reinvention: asymmetric abilities, a retro-futuristic 1980s setting, the most content the series has ever offered, and full cross-play across Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Check out our launch post here: We Were Here Tomorrow
Watch the official release date reveal trailer:
Shoresy: Legends of the North — Out now (Oct 19) — $14.99

The only hockey RPG in existence: Shoresy’s foul-mouthed charm wrapped around an arcade-sports campaign where you battle the “Hockey Godz” — with five-player local co-op and split-screen built for game night. (Note: no console-specific launch trailer was found; the video below is the official announcement video from the Shoresy channel.)
Watch:
Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest — Out Oct 23 — $29.99 ($39.99 Feral Edition)

Millions of readers grew up creating their own Clan cats in their heads — now there’s finally a game for it. Four brand-new Erin Hunter-written storylines (ThunderClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan, WindClan), procedurally generated quests, and turn-based combat make this the book series’ interactive missing chapter rather than a licensed cash-in.
The Rest
Also hitting Xbox this week:
- Dreadway — Oct 22 — a “your voice is the gameplay” co-op horror game: code locks open when you speak, screaming scares monsters off, whispering keeps you alive. (Price not listed on the Microsoft Store yet; the Steam version goes for $9.99.)
- House 2 — Oct 23 — the cult pixel-horror sequel trades pixels for a hand-drawn storybook style, keeping the time-loop, multiple-ending structure — with Smart Delivery on Xbox One and Series X|S. (Price not listed yet; the PC version launched at $19.99.)
Game Pass This Week
Wave 2 of October’s Game Pass additions was just announced:

- Scramble Knights Online (Game Preview) — Oct 26 — day one on Game Pass — Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, PC
