The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire Leaves Early Access — Full 1.0 Launch Adds Police Chases, Luxury Safehouses and a City to Conquer

After a long spell gathering feedback in Steam Early Access, The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire has stepped out of the shadows and into its full 1.0 launch on PC via Steam. The open-world crime simulator from independent Turkish studio BEF Games, published by Tripwire Presents, is the studio’s flagship first game, and the 1.0 release marks the moment it stops being a promising work in progress and becomes a complete, conquerable city.

At its heart, The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire blends two pleasures that do not always sit comfortably together: hands-on, third-person action on the streets, and the slower, more strategic business of running a criminal enterprise. Players build an operation from the ground up, expanding their influence, taking on rival families and trying to hold a city together while everyone else is trying to take it away. That mix of street-level chaos and boardroom-style empire management is what has carried the game through Early Access, and it is what the 1.0 update is designed to sharpen rather than replace.

The headline addition is Hot Pursuits and Police Heat, a system built around high-speed vehicle chases and an escalating police response. Getting away is no longer just a matter of driving fast for a few seconds; the heat builds, the pursuit intensifies, and a careless escape can turn a profitable night into a very expensive one. Alongside the chases, the 1.0 update adds Luxury Safehouses, including a mansion complete with character training facilities and a vehicle showroom, plus a Casino Penthouse for players who want their success to look as good as it feels. Seasons and dynamic weather change how the city looks and feels over time, while Cinematic Payoffs give the biggest moments their due: when a rival crime family is completely wiped out, a cinematic triggers to mark the victory.

There is also a generous haul of smaller, but meaningful, additions. Twenty rare items with unique stat bonuses give players new reasons to hunt, collect and experiment with different builds, full controller support makes the game more comfortable to play from the couch or with a pad in hand, and a round of stability and performance polish should make the whole experience smoother. Together, those changes speak to a launch shaped less by a checklist and more by what players actually asked for during Early Access, which BEF Games says directly shaped the 1.0 update.

BEF Games lead producer Emre Yasak said: “Developing our very first game has been an incredible journey and we couldn’t have done it without our dedicated community.” That community-first approach is set to continue after launch, with regular free content updates planned alongside future add-on packs. For now, the full game is available for $18.99, with a 20 percent launch discount running through November 10, making this a good moment to jump in if the Early Access journey passed you by.

It is a different kind of Steam story from another Steam Early Access story we covered this week, which is heading into Early Access rather than out of it.
