The studio behind Cozy Grove is about to open the doors to its biggest world yet. Spry Fox revealed during today’s Nintendo Indie World Showcase that Spirit Crossing, its whimsical online multiplayer game, launches November 16, 2026 — and the announcement confirmed the game is coming to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 alongside PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Pre-orders are open now on both Nintendo platforms.
Spirit Crossing is a cozy MMO about making a home in a strange, beautiful, ever-changing world called the Crosslands. It is built around shared joy and creative expression rather than combat or competition: players wander, gather, and build together — or occasionally do absolutely nothing together. A day might mean chasing glory in a fishing tournament, painting murals with your neighbours, or sitting side by side while someone plays a tune into the sunrise.
Friendship is the game’s core system, and it is designed to grow naturally. Spirit Crossing’s friendship progression unlocks features gradually over time — proximity chat, two-player emotes, gift-giving, and instant teleportation among them — so relationships deepen the more you actually spend time with people. At the same time, highly customisable social permissions let every player decide exactly how they want to interact with everyone they meet, so socialising never has to be all-or-nothing.

Self-expression gets the same attention. Extensive avatar customisation covers everything from dramatic entrances to goth picnics and spa days, and players can build and decorate spaces from the ground up, from a personal home to a shared community Waystation. Out in the Crosslands you will meet peculiar locals — humans, talking bears, and wandering spirits — each with their own stories that unfold with patience and care.
The launch is also a milestone for the studio itself. Spry Fox spent five years developing Spirit Crossing, and it arrives as the studio begins a new chapter as an independent, employee-owned company after its years inside larger organisations. Co-founder and CEO David Edery said the team set out to provide a welcoming space for anyone craving meaningful connections, and that playtesters repeatedly surprised the developers with their kindness and creativity.

From the makers of Triple Town, Alphabear, and Cozy Grove, Spirit Crossing looks like the natural next step: a shared world designed to be lived in slowly, with friends old and new.
Spirit Crossing launches November 16, 2026 on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, with pre-orders available now on Nintendo platforms.
