Trophy Whores 270 – No Man’s Sky Watch

We’re rocking a five-man show, so much like episode 269, we’ve got a full crew.  What does that mean for you?  We’re about to take you to the podcast equivalent of Jurassic Park.  Every member of our gnarly gang is present and accounted for.  Sometimes, you gotta end a sentence with a preposition.  In truth, despite the rule of English grammar, ending a sentence with a preposition sounds closer to our natural speaking habits.  And, at Proven Gamer Studios, we try to keep it causal.  We don’t, however, approve of Hawaiian shirts or any shirt that features patterns of fruit or palm trees.

No Man’s Sky has arrived, and while Donny is rolling his eyes, Yield is clamoring like a kid on Christmas.  We look forward to his deep and insightful thoughts on a future episode.  Unfortunately, for Donny, No Man’s Sky is on the agenda this week, and since it’s huge game that has garnered massive amounts of attention, we simply can’t ignore it.  Episode 270 marks week one of No Man’s Sky watch — much to Donny’s chagrin.

Join the Trophy Whores as they discuss, among other things, No Man’s Sky, THQ, PlayStation Neo and PlayStation Vita.  Despite the promise and potential of the PlayStation Vita, Sony stopped supporting it, and gamers responded by bashing and ridiculing Sony.  As the current leader in the home console market, Sony seems poised to keep that position — as long as the company doesn’t take another stab at the handheld console market.  Nintendo owns the handheld market, and the PlayStation 4 has done extraordinarily well.  What’s the apt adage?  Koalas don’t eat sushi after midnight.  Polar bears are a shade of purple that the human eye can’t detect.  Unicorns aren’t a myth, they’re just great at hide-and-seek.

Oh yeah! I got it!  If it ain’t broke, don’t go and fuck it up.

Trophy Whores 261 – Sophie’s Trophies

This week we have a momentous show.  We often have guests, but this week is special.  Superfan Sid, or Sidders1978, as well as his significant other, Mandy, join the show.  Sid is a longtime Trophy Whores listener, and he wrote the podcast with a poignant and personal story that touched every single member of the show.  In a landmark and emotional moment for the show, Tricky reads the email on the show in its entirety.  To be honest, the fellas are all superfans of Sid and Mandy.

Ionvein, again, runs with the preeminent PlayStation wolf pack.  Given Lucia’s streak of appearances, we should probably make him an officially unofficial Trophy Whore.  While the Trophy Whores aren’t recruiting any new permanent hosts, Lucia’s contributions to the show can’t be denied, and he brings the heat in this week’s discussion of the Electronic Entertainment Expo — better known as E3.

The Trophy Whores play soothsayers this week, as they make their E3 predictions.  As usual, they are keeping score; however, this year, Ionvein/Lucia/Mark joins the dogfight.  It will be a cutthroat battle for E3 guesstimating supremacy, so get your scorecards out!

Join the Trophy Whores as they discuss, among other things, Injustice 2: Gods Among, Watch Dogs 2, Devil May Cry, Street Fighter V, Titanfall 2 and Agents of Mayhem.  Agents of Mayhem is the new game from Volition, the makers of the popular Saints Row series of sandbox crime games.  Jeff Hanna, an occasional guest on Trophy Whores, has his hands in that kiln.  Based solely on its name, Agents of Mayhem will draw attention and intrigue.  While that’s not much to go off of, Volition always does solid work, and history has shown that they can, if nothing else, make over-the-top action games that people love to play.

Trophy Whores 260 – Helldive Into Doom

While Yield is fending off polar bears and killer whales in Alaska, the Trophy Whores — and Lucia — carry the torch through episode 260.  Lucia, who is a strong candidate to become the unofficial fifth Trophy Whore, joins the Whoresmen for the third week in a row.  If anyone can handle the silliness and absurdity that is the Trophy Whores podcast, it’s the man called Ionvein.

Between the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game, Mutants in Manhattan, and the latest movie, Out of the Shadows, pop culture is inundated in the ooze of the Heroes in a Half-Shell. Despite the low scores that Mutants in Manhattan has received, Donny probably ranks it above Watch Dogs, which is getting a sequel before summer of 2017.  Donny will, surely, have a terse spoken review — even if he doesn’t play the game.

Join the Trophy Whores as they discuss, among other things, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan, Helldivers, Doom, Watch Dogs 2 and Assassin’s Creed.  The Trophy Whores are all over the place this week, but that means that you get more bang for your buck.  It’s like walking into a restaurant and ordering spaghetti, and when you finally get your food, the server brings you a plate of pasta and an ice cream sundae.  Strap in for an adventure fit for four teenage turtles named after Renaissance painters.
