HITMAN Getting HDR Support

Io-Interactive has confirmed that HITMAN will support High Dynamic Range (HDR) from January 31, 2017. Allowing for more vibrant graphics, HITMAN will support HDR displays via a game update when the disc launches.

IOI Programmer Anders Wang Kristensen explains: ”As an example, think of 47 in a dark room looking out a bright window. Without HDR you would not be able make out what’s outside, whereas with HDR you can simultaneously see details inside the room and outside the window. Another extreme example is the sun.  Without HDR we could not render the sun brighter than a white piece of paper, so we had to ‘simulate’ the sun being blinding. With HDR we can draw the sun several times brighter, so that it is actually close to being blinding, just like in real life.”

HITMAN – The Complete First Season also supports 4k resolution, offering the latest visual and technical enhancements on the PS4 Pro.

Become the Master Assassin in this intense spy-thriller story. As Agent 47 you perform contract hits on powerful, high-profile targets in exotic locations around the world, from Paris, Italy and Morocco to Bangkok, the USA and Japan in this creative stealth action game. Gameplay focuses on taking out targets in huge and intricate sandbox levels with complete freedom of approach. Where to go, when to strike and who to kill – it is all up to you.

Hitman Coming to PlayStation 4 Pro

Io-Interactive has announced that HITMAN is coming to PlayStation4 Pro (PS4 Pro) on November 10, 2016.

Offering the latest visual and technical enhancements, on the PS4 Pro, HITMAN has had a whole new layer of detail added to it; the overall resolution has been increased, aliasing reduced, reflective surfaces improved and we get more detailed lighting effects, all without compromising the frame rate or the overall gaming experience. A clean and crisp UI rendered natively in 4K, furthermore it uses the extra memory of the PS4 Pro to stream in higher quality textures, yielding more details. Agent 47 has never looked so good.

“With HITMAN we made a live game which is constantly improving and the PS4 Pro aligns perfectly with that vision of constant improvement, we’re proud to support it,” said Hannes Seifert, Studio Head, Io-Interactive.

Players without 4K will also benefit from the increased resolution as the image will be downsampled to 1080p to benefit from higher quality shading and less flickering highlights.
