Conan Exiles Is Getting a FREE PS5 Upgrade — and Cozy Hit Aloft Is Flying to PS5 Too

Funcom is not done with PlayStation 5. Fresh off launching Dune: Awakening on the console, the publisher announced today that two more of its open-world survival games are headed to PS5 in early 2027: Conan Exiles Enhanced, a rebuilt current-gen version of its long-running Hyborian survival hit, and Aloft, the cozy co-op sky adventure from Astrolabe Interactive making its console debut. Both games are available to wishlist on the PlayStation Store now.

The headliner is Conan Exiles Enhanced. The Enhanced edition first arrived on Steam as a free update in May, and console players have been asking for it ever since. Funcom confirmed it is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in early 2027 — and if you already own Conan Exiles on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, the upgrade is completely free. Everything you have bought carries over too: your DLC, Bazaar items, and Crom Coins all move to the new version, and buying either version of the game going forward gets you access to both.

This is not a simple resolution bump. Enhanced is a serious visual overhaul of the Exiled Lands, with improved environments, characters, lighting, and effects, a redesigned user interface, and a stack of performance and quality-of-life improvements underneath. The Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah expansion are also brought together into one more seamless experience, so travelling between the two no longer means switching worlds — although Siptah itself remains a separate purchase if you do not already own it.

Funcom also confirmed that full cross-play is coming to Conan Exiles Enhanced, either at launch or soon after, finally putting PC and console Exiles in the same world. The console launch will include the Legacy of the Giant-Kings story content from day one, and Funcom’s FAQ for the upgrade does come with one warning worth planning around: because Siptah has been folded into the main map, bases built on Siptah cannot be preserved in Enhanced, while Exiled Lands characters and bases on official servers carry over untouched. The current console version will continue as Conan Exiles Legacy, supported with critical fixes.

The timing is deliberate. Conan Exiles is approaching its 10th anniversary, and Funcom CEO Scott Junior framed the console launch as the start of the game’s next decade, saying the team has heard “loud and clear” from console players who want the Enhanced version. After a decade of updates, expansions, and a complete visual rebuild, the Exiled Lands are about to look their best on console.

Then Funcom swings to the complete opposite end of the survival spectrum. Aloft, developed by Astrolabe Interactive and published by Funcom, trades Hyboria’s blood and sand for floating islands, blue skies, and skyships. It launches on PlayStation 5 in early 2027, at the same time the PC version leaves Steam Early Access and hits 1.0 — and the PS5 release is the complete game, with more than two years of updates included.

In Aloft you turn floating islands into flying skyships, build a home among the clouds, and explore a colourful open world alone or with friends in co-op. Since its Early Access launch in January 2025, the game has received five major content updates adding new wildlife, puzzles, combat improvements, glider customisation, and deeper exploration, alongside its gentle core loop of discovering lost knowledge, curing fungal corruption, caring for animals, and restoring damaged ecosystems while hurricanes roll through the skies.

Astrolabe CEO Manuel Bergeron called the PS5 launch “a brand-new chapter” for a game that began six years ago as a passion project from a small group of friends. It is a fitting pairing with Conan: one of the harshest survival games ever made and one of the cosiest, arriving on PS5 in the same window from the same publisher.

Funcom has been building a serious PlayStation survival catalogue — it recently detailed how Dune: Awakening would feature private servers at launch, and that game has now landed on PS5 ahead of these two. If you are mapping out the months ahead on the console, our roundup of new PS5 games this week covers what is playable right now while you wait for early 2027.
