Call of Duty’s worst trophy trend is back — Modern Warfare 4 ships as CoD HQ DLC, so no platinum. And for the first time, PS4 can’t save trophy hunters.
PowerPyx confirms the list: 18 trophies total (8 gold, 10 silver, 0 bronze), NO platinum. Because MW4 lives inside the Call of Duty HQ launcher, it counts as DLC for Modern Warfare 2 (2022), which already holds the HQ list’s single platinum.
The killer detail: MW4 is the first CoD to skip PS4 entirely. Every prior HQ-era CoD had a separate PS4 list with its own platinum — PS5 owners just played the PS4 version on PS5. That workaround is gone in 2026.
Timeline: campaign early access Oct 16 for pre-orders, full launch Oct 23 on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PC. Campaign trophies are the bulk of the 18; multiplayer additions later are possible but unlikely.
Precedent for hope: Activision started decoupling older CoDs from HQ in summer 2025 — MW2, MW3, and Black Ops 6 went standalone and retroactively gained PS5 platinums. MW4 could follow in ~summer 2028. That’s a two-year wait for a plat.
Scale of the mess: CoD HQ now sits at 158 trophies, heading to 176 with MW4 — one mega-list where only MW2’s trophies unlock the platinum.
Debate: is the HQ launcher the single worst thing to happen to trophy hunting, or is a free-ish unified launcher worth sacrificing platinums for? And should trophy hunters skip MW4 at launch and wait ~2 years for the standalone plat, or is playing on day one worth more than the trophy?
