The Tsaritsa Just Summoned Every Nation — Genshin Impact 7.2 “Hour of Ruin” Hits November 4

HoYoverse just slammed the big red button. Genshin Impact Version 7.2 “Hour of Ruin” goes live November 4, and this is not your typical “new region, new banners, see you next patch” update. The Tsaritsa herself has summoned representatives from every nation in Teyvat to Snezhnaya for an emergency summit. When the Cryo Archon calls an all-hands meeting, you know the situation is beyond dire.

Here’s the nightmare scenario: the Nails of Retribution are waking up all across Teyvat. Pillars of light are stabbing down from the sky, and a calamity dubbed the Holy Soil phenomenon is throwing every nation into its own brand of chaos. We’re talking civilization-ending stakes, and the only move left on the board is the one nobody saw coming — all seven nations actually joining forces.

Seven Nations, One Last Stand

The new Archon Quest is the centerpiece, and it’s historic by Genshin standards. The Tsaritsa is convening a gathering on her home turf, pulling delegates from Mondstadt to Natlan to coordinate containment before Teyvat tips past the point of no return. You’ll be fighting side by side with the Archons, Neuvillette, and allies from every corner of the map in what’s shaping up to be the most ambitious story chapter HoYoverse has ever attempted.

HoYoverse is backing the hype with actual loot, too. Clear the Archon Quest within the designated window and you’ll bank 560 Primogems plus Character Ascension Materials for Mitya — basically a head start on building the patch’s headliner the moment he drops. On top of that, a series of Secret Tsarist Assignments dangles a Snezhnaya-themed Wind Glider. A free glider skin for running covert ops for the Tsaritsa? Say less.

Welcome to Eastern Snezhnaya

Version 7.2 also cracks open a fresh region: eastern Snezhnaya. You’ll roll in by railway to Novokitezhgrad, a jaw-dropping underground city constructed entirely inside Kresnik Kristall — which, fittingly, makes it Snezhnaya’s main producer of the stuff. Push further east and you’ll hit Wingspan Peak and Old Kitezhgrad, the very first city Snezhnaya ever built, founded ages ago by the Belyi Tsar. Lore enjoyers, this patch is serving a full-course meal.

Exploration here is wired directly into the crisis. New Prime Ice Constructs stalk the region, and you’ll pick up two elemental shotguns purpose-built for clearing out contaminated Kresnik Kristall deposits — fallout from the Holy Soil phenomenon, which was unleashed by Ronova herself. The new Meeting Point quests go deeper: Danica is running a clandestine cleanup operation on direct orders from the Tsaritsa in Novokitezhgrad, while Mitya is out in the field investigating corrupted soil near the Teplo Oasis. And if that wasn’t enough, a colossal creature from the ocean depths is waiting beneath Novokitezhgrad for challengers brave enough — or reckless enough — to face it.

New Faces: Mitya and Valeriy

Now the part your Primogem wallet is dreading. Mitya is the 5-star headliner, an Electro Catalyst wielder with one of the most interesting kits we’ve seen in a while. His signature trick is converting the team’s Superconduct reactions into Stellar-Conduct reactions, amping up the whole party’s Stellar-Conduct damage while banking special energy. Tap his Elemental Skill to discharge that stored energy as periodic Stellar-Conduct hits; hold it, and he unloads a flurry of enhanced Charged Attacks. He flows between off-field enabler and on-field carry without breaking stride, and his Elemental Burst slams down AoE Electro damage while topping up his energy reserves. As a bonus, his detection device reveals hidden paths scattered across parts of Snezhnaya — and putting it to good use unlocks an appearance-changing reward. Damage and drip.

Rounding out the patch is Valeriy, a 4-star Electro Sword user who holds the rank of Major of the Armory Palace. She’s built to protect and empower: expect sturdy shields and a solid boost to Electro DMG, with extra synergy for Stellar-Conduct teams. If you’re planning to build around Mitya, Valeriy looks like the most natural teammate in the game.

Banner Schedule: Plan Your Pulls

Phase 1 Event Wishes are going to hurt. Mitya and Valeriy make their debut alongside a Furina rerun — that’s a new 5-star, a new 4-star, and one of the most beloved Archons all competing for the same Primogems. Good luck, Travelers. Phase 2 offers a breather with Zibai and Linnea returning, plus a fresh Chronicled Wish stocked with Natlan characters for anyone looking to round out their collection.

Events and Free Loot

The flagship limited-time event unlocks by progressing through the Archon Quest, or through Quick Start if you want to jump straight in. It’s a full multi-nation war effort: you’ll coordinate with allies all the way from Mondstadt to Snezhnaya to hold the line against the Holy Soil phenomenon — rescuing stranded soldiers, relaying critical intel, and knocking out urgent assignments. The payout is worth it: Primogems, enhancement materials, and an invitation to recruit a 4-star character of your choice. Free character select is always the best kind of event reward.

Beyond the main event, there’s a filming event set in Snezhnaya for the creatively inclined, a mining challenge waiting in Natlan, and Miliastra Wonderland is rolling out a masquerade-themed lobby complete with a free 4-star cosmetic set and expanded stage-editing features. Your housing game is about to get a whole lot fancier.
