One of the best-selling book series of all time just became a video game — and it’s out today. TRAILMARK Games and Four Trees Media announced that Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest, an all-new action-adventure RPG inspired by the beloved Erin Hunter novels, is available now on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. This isn’t a mobile tie-in or a licensed afterthought. It’s a full original tale set in the world of the books, where you create your own Warrior Cat, choose your Clan, defend your home against a wide range of threats, and uncover the secrets of the mysterious StarClan alongside iconic cats and locations from the franchise.

Character creation is the first thing you’ll dig into. The Cat Creator offers deep customization inspired by the Warriors universe — unique fur patterns, colors, tails, whiskers, ears, eyes, markings, and more — so your warrior actually feels like yours. You’ll train powerful moves, experiment with combat stances, and personalize your den with unlockable decorations, bedding, and scratching posts, then show off your customized warrior to friends through asynchronous online den visits. The structure is built for replayability: four Clans, four full story campaigns. Each Clan’s journey is shaped by its own culture, conflicts, and traditions, with distinct prophecies, rivalries, characters, and challenges. You’ll see the forest through different eyes with every playthrough. Combat is strategic and turn-based — timing, tactics, and specialized Clan moves matter as you take on rivals, predators, and bosses. Build your move set, exploit enemy weaknesses, and unleash powerful ancestor attacks granted by the StarClan. Exploration covers the iconic Clan territories: sprawling forests, marshes, and moorlands, plus sacred landmarks like the Moonpool and the Island. Expect hidden paths, secret areas, environmental puzzles, and meaningful encounters along the way. Between foraging and crafting, rising through the ranks, and building relationships and rivalries that shape your reputation within the Clans, there’s a full RPG loop here — not just fan service.
Story choices play a real role too. Branching storylines, unique prophecies, and spiritual omens guide your personal journey, with dynamic quests and multiple story paths that make each playthrough feel different. Along the way you’ll meet legendary cats from the books alongside an original cast created for the game — forming alliances, learning from powerful mentors, and facing encounters tied to the future of the Clans. The scale of the IP is worth underlining. Four Trees Media (formerly Coolabi Group) reports its books have sold more than 200 million copies globally across more than 40 territories, and Warrior Cats has become a genuine digital phenomenon: over 780 million Roblox game plays, more than 500 million YouTube views of user-generated content, and almost 3 billion TikTok views. That’s a built-in audience most new RPGs can only dream of — and now that audience gets its first real console-and-PC adventure. The details on editions: the game is available now digitally for £24.99 / €29.99 on all platforms. The Feral Edition (£34.99 / €39.99) adds eight additional elements for the Cat Creator, 12 wearable accessories, a cel-shaded character skin, four cat poses for photo mode, and four photo mode effects. Physical copies are available today on Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5, with the Xbox Series X physical version arriving November 6. PlayStation angle: the PS5 version launches today in both digital and physical form, which is good news for collectors — and trophy hunters get a brand-new RPG with a full trophy list to chase on day one. TRAILMARK Games is an independent publisher focused on bringing beloved brands to players worldwide, led by industry veterans from publishing, licensing, and product development. With Clans of the Forest, they’ve delivered exactly what the pitch promised: a proper Warrior Cats RPG for every major platform, out today.
