Today’s Nintendo Indie World Showcase had a strong cozy streak — it opened with Witchbrook‘s long-awaited release date — and one of its nicest surprises was a date for a game we have been watching for a while. TANUKI: Pon’s Summer, the BMX-riding, package-delivering open-world adventure from Denkiworks and publisher CRITICAL REFLEX, launches November 10, 2026 — and the announcement came with two brand-new platforms attached.
Pon is a part-time mail-delivery tanuki and, in the game’s own words, a full-time show-off. The Great Tanuki Shrine is in rough shape, the summer festival is coming whether the shrine is ready or not, and it is Pon’s job to fix it up before summer ends. That means hopping on his BMX, delivering letters and packages all over a picturesque Japanese island, and befriending basically everyone who lives there along the way.
The reveal confirmed the full platform lineup: Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and — revealed for the first time today — Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. It is also a day-one Xbox Game Pass title on both PC and console. The game costs $19.99, pre-orders are open now on Xbox and the Nintendo eShop, and in a genuinely player-friendly touch, buying the Switch version unlocks the Switch 2 version at no extra charge, and vice versa.
Gameplay is a mix of delivery work and pure summer. Packages come in different sizes, weights, and shapes, so figuring out how to actually get each one to its destination on a bike is part of the puzzle. The island doubles as a skate park: launch off ramps, grind rails, and string together tricks and combos across more than 100 BMX challenges. Off the bike, the townsfolk pull Pon into activities — making sushi, playing baseball, stepping into the sumo ring — and every friendship built brings rewards for the shrine, which you build, upgrade, and decorate until it is festival-ready. Pon can also wear crossover hats inspired by Hollow Knight: Silksong, PEAK, Shovel Knight, and more.

If November 10 feels too far away, there is a generous Steam demo available right now: it covers the first three days of the game, runs about two to three hours, and your save progress carries over to the full version at launch.

TANUKI: Pon’s Summer is the debut title from Kyoto-based Denkiworks, a three-person studio whose founders previously worked on the hit indie golf-like Cursed to Golf, and it is being published by CRITICAL REFLEX, the label behind Buckshot Roulette, Mouthwashing, and No, I’m not a Human. Between this and Spirit Crossing, cozy-game fans have a very busy November ahead — and Pon might be the cutest postal worker gaming has ever produced.
