Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 Drops November 6 — Two New Warzone Maps, a Reimagined Shoot House, and Halloween Modes THIS Friday

Modern Warfare 4 has barely been out a week, and Activision is already flooring it. Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Call of Duty: Warzone arrives November 6, and it is a big one: more than six multiplayer maps, two brand-new Warzone maps, a whole new DMZ facility to infiltrate, four new weapons, and a 100-tier Battle Pass. And if you do not feel like waiting until November 6, the season’s Halloween pre-season content — the returning Infected and Possession modes — lands this Friday, October 30.

Let’s start with multiplayer, because the map list is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. At Season 1 launch, players get Backstab, a war-torn map played out in inclement weather, and Canyon, which funnels fights between towering rock walls. The headline act, though, is a reimagined Shoot House — one of the most beloved small maps in Modern Warfare history, rebuilt for MW4. Mid-season, the rotation grows again with Ministry, Overflow, and additional classified maps still under wraps. Shipment, meanwhile, has already been added in the lead-up to the season, so the small-map chaos crowd is eating well.

There is also a new twist on an old favorite: Kill Block: Crash. In Kill Block, the map stays static and Crash is always front and center, with additional game modes available across Core multiplayer. It is a playlist built for players who want one map, all the time, no voting, no surprises.

Modes-wise, the fan-favorite Grind returns at Season 1 launch, joined by Drop Zone and Gauntlet 1v1 as part of the Wager Match Event. More modes are promised starting at mid-season, and the Halloween pre-season gives Infected and Possession a head start this Friday — perfectly timed for Halloween weekend.

DMZ players are getting the season’s biggest single piece of content. X01 is a vast new facility — a former Russian site on the edge of Hajin’s borders where North Korean forces have set up shop. You will move through cargo bays and vehicle depots, descend into underground labs and production lines, and push toward the sealed Deep Vault. Ghost guides Operators through a new set of DMZ Orders as you go deeper, and extraction is not a given: as the facility starts closing off extraction points, you will have to complete the required steps to escape, or die trying. Season 1 also adds new DMZ gear and events throughout the season, including special Commander Hunts with rewards Activision says are well worth deploying for. (Most of the intel on what is actually inside X01 is, in classic Call of Duty fashion, [CLASSIFIED].)

Over in Warzone, Season 1 adds two new maps: Hajin and Zodiac. Activision is holding the full Warzone breakdown for Monday, November 2, so expect the deep dive on how the two maps play, what changes for the mode, and how DMZ’s new Hajin-border facility ties into the bigger picture then.

The arsenal expands across all modes. The Season 1 Battle Pass brings the Cronen Osprey assault rifle and the CSG-35 SMG, with the full-auto JAK 12 shotgun and the ZLR Talonhawk melee axe arriving later in the season. There are also new attachments to chase, including two new Apex Attachments, plus a season packed with events — the Wager Match Event, Weapon Camo Events, and more — handing out blueprints, attachments, and Operator skins.

The Battle Pass itself runs on a 100-tier linear track with a mix of free and premium tiers; the premium pass guarantees 50+ rewards, including weapon blueprints, Operator skins, calling cards, finishing moves, and emotes. BlackCell returns for the premium crowd, led this season by Operator XERO, and Vault Edition owners get the BlackCell content included. Finally, players who want to support a good cause can pick up the C.O.D.E. Valor Pack in Warzone Season 1, which supports veterans through the Call of Duty Endowment.

Modern Warfare 4 launched October 22 with a campaign built around a North Korean invasion of the Korean Peninsula, and Season 1 is clearly designed to keep that momentum rolling straight through November. Between the Halloween modes this Friday, the full season on November 6, and the Warzone breakdown on November 2, Call of Duty players have a busy two weeks ahead. If you are still working through everything else out this month, our New PS5 Games This Week and New Xbox Games This Week roundups have the full Halloween-week release slate.
