In what is sure to be one of the more surprising stealth releases this month, Halo: Spartan Strike is out now for Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, iOS devices and Steam for $6.
Halo: Spartan Strike is set during the events of Halo 2 on New Mombasa in 2552 and you play as a Spartan supersoldier in a classified ONI simulation, which consists of 30 missions leading UNSC forces through cities and jungles with a new variety of weapons, abilities and vehicles.
If you’re playing on any Windows 8 device, you’ll be able to compete against your friends in weekly challenges and try to take the #1 spot on the leaderboards while earning Achievements that unlock an emblem, nameplate and avatar that can be used in Halo: The Master Chief Collection on the Xbox One.
You’ll also notice that the music sounds familiar. Well, that’s because it is composed by Tom Salta, who has worked on Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo: Spartan Assault and Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.
Now, if you also want Halo: Spartan Assault, you can purchase the Halo: Spartan Bundle on your iPad, iPhone or Steam for about $10.
