Trophy Whores 381 – Interview with Bombfest Lead Dev Zac Pierce

This week the Trophy Whores welcome a special guest: Zac Pierce, the lead developer of critically acclaimed and praised indie party game Bombfest.  Zac shares insights on the latest goings-on in the video game industry, and he goes in-depth about his dynamite smash-hit, which he describes as “sumo wrestling with bombs.” To be honest, it’s the perfect description.  For more information on Bombfest, check out the official web site.  Zac and Bombfest will be presenting at the Indie Megabooth at PAX East, so if you’re at the convention, be sure to give Bombfest a spin.

Join the Trophy Whores — and super awesome guest and game developer Zac — as they discuss, among other things, God of War, Activision, Death Stranding and The Division 2.  We also promise groan-worthy bomb puns.

Team Kojima Releases New Death Stranding Trailer at The Game Awards 2016

The industry icon Hideo Kojima took the stage at this year’s Video Game Awards to accept the award for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which some say was wrongfully stripped from him after his untimely departure from Konami.  After an emotional display of affection from both Kojima himself, as well as the show’s host Geoff Keighley, we were shown yet another teaser trailer for Kojima’s upcoming Science-Fiction game Death Stranding.  Although little is still known about the game (by little we mean NOTHING), fans of Kojima’s work met him with thunderous applause and “Kojima” chants in anticipation for his upcoming game and future with Sony.  Some call him icon.  Some call him Rock star.  But it goes without saying that Kojima’s work speaks for itself, and with it ushers in a loyal fan-base eagerly awaiting his next game.  Unfortunately, we may be waiting for quite some time.  In the meantime, click the video below to see the new trailer for Death Stranding.

Hideo Kojima Launches New Studio

Hideo Kojima announced via his twitter that “My employment contract with Konami has been terminated as of Dec 15th, so today marks a new start for me. I’m committed to be involved in creative activities for as long as I live.”

Without wasting any time, Sony has announced a new partnership with Kojima Productions.

Check out the announcement video below.

As you can see the partnership with Sony will bring exclusive rights to Kojima’s new game. Whether or not this will be on PC remains to be seen. We do know, however, that this will be a new IP and not an already established IP from Sony.

You can check out the new Kojima Productions website here
