Free Content and Updates Coming to Middle-earth: Shadow of War

A slew of new free updates and features are coming later this year to Middle-earth: Shadow of War. This content will be available for all players, regarldess of whether or not they have purchased the Expansion Pass. Check out the full list of updates below:

  • Endless Siege – Defend fortresses against Sauron’s forces in the Endless Siege. (Available 21stNov)
  • Rebellion – Crush the rebel Ologs and Uruks in your forces as they seek to undermine the Bright Lord. (Available 21st Nov)
  • Enhanced Photo Mode – New filters, frames, and textures will be added to photo mode (Available 21st Nov)
  • Online Fight Pits – Challenge another player’s Orc follower, Overlord vs. Overlord, to a fight to the death in the arena to earn powerful rewards and upgrades. (Available 5th Dec)
  • Brutal Difficulty – A new higher difficulty level even more challenging than Nemesis with no last chances. (Available 12th Dec)

Season Pass Details Revealed for Shadow of War

Warner Bros has released a new trailer and details for the Expansion Pass for Middle-earth Shadow of War. The pass, which comes in at $40 will give players access four expansions, which will include new orc tribes and story campaigns. Check out the full list of the expansions below:

Slaughter Tribe Nemesis Expansion

  • The gruesome Slaughter tribe invades Mordor introducing new missions, Epic and Legendary Orcs, tribal showdowns and fierce battles, brought to life through the Nemesis System.
  • New fortress for the tribe.
  • New Legendary gear set and challenges.
  • Slaughter Orcs are the most bloodthirsty in Mordor, capable of ambushing players at any point, creating a deadly new challenge for players.
  • Available November 2017.

Outlaw Tribe Nemesis Expansion

  • Introduction of the Outlaw tribe including new missions and captains for the Nemesis system.
  • New Legendary gear set and challenges.
  • New Outlaw tribe fortress.
  • The Outlaw tribe is home to the most rebellious warriors in Orc society, outcasts who have a deep contempt of all those who would rule them, be they foreign invaders or Lords of Mordor (whether Dark or Bright).
  • Available December 2017.

Blade of Galadriel Story Expansion

  • Players will control the assassin  Eltariel, and take on the newest edition to theNazgûl.
  • Eltariel’s will feature dual Elven blades and the ability to harness the Light of Galadriel with new combat abilities, skills, and gear.
  • New Nemesis characters, such as Flint and Tinder and the Slayer of the Dead, while battling the Nazgûl and learning more mysteries of their past.
  • Legendary Orcs who can return to join your forces in the main story campaign with new abilities added to the Nemesis System.
  • Unlockable Eltariel character skin for the main story campaign.
  • Available February 2018.

Desolation of Mordor Story Expansion

  • Players will control Baranor, the Captain of Minas Ithil as he and his army take on a new Orc threat.
  • Unite with Torvin, the Dwarven Hunter, to craft powerful new combat gear, including the shield, gauntlet, chain and glider.
  • Hire mercenaries to create a human army and conquer the all-new desert region of Lithlad.
  • Fight to survive in Mordor as a human without the power of a Ring or a wraith to cheat death in a new rogue-like campaign mode.
  • Unlockable Baranor character skin for the main story campaign.
  • Available May 2018.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War Gets Live Action Trailer

Warner Bros. has released a new, live-action trailer Middle-earth: Shadow of War. The trailer focuses several elements of the game, including the Nemesis System and fortress sieges.

The trailer heavily emphasized the decisions that players would have to make throughout the campaign. These story moments will help shape the player’s experience by forging new orc allies or creating new enemies. Every interaction will be remembered and play into the Nemesis System throughout the campaign.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 10. Check out the new trailer for the game below:

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War Shows off Nemesis System Enhancements

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War gameplay was shown running on Xbox One X. The gameplay showed Talon in an arena, fighting a huge orc leader. After delivering several blows, Talon was able to take control of the orc and bring him into his army. The orc revealed that a fortress controlled by a two-headed troll was nearby, and Talon commanded the new orc follower to collect his army and help attack the fortress.

The revenge feature of the Nemesis System was also featured, as an orc leader, known as The Machine, attempted to exact revenge; however, Talon was able to control him and recruit him to the army, too.  Talon was able to use his two new recruits and their armies to attack the fortress.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War will launch on October 10.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War Gets New Story Trailer

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released a new story trailer for Middle-earth: Shadow of War. The trailer focuses on Talon and Celebrimbor as they use the power of a new ring to build an army to fight back against Sauron and his allies. The trailer introduces players to new allies, villains, and creatures that they will encounter throughout the game.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War will launch on October 10 for Xbox One, Project Scorpio, PlayStation 4, and PC. Check out the story trailer for the game below:

Middle-earth: Shadow of War Delayed

In a post to on the official WB site, it has been announced that Middle-earth: Shadow of War has been delayed. The game, which was originally scheduled to come out in August, is now set for an October 10 release date.

The statement says that the game has been delayed to ensure in order to make sure gamers have the “highest quality experience”. More information about the game will be shown at E3. Check out the gameplay trailer for Shadow of War below:

Middle-earth: Shadow of War Gets New Open World Trailer

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released a new trailer for Middle-earth: Shadow of War. The trailer focuses on the open-world that the game will be set in. Along with Mordor, the trailer also showed off new areas such as the Island of Nurn, Cirith, Ungol, and Gorgoroth.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War will be available for Xbox One, Project Scorpio,  PC, and PlayStation 4 on  August 22. Check out the new trailer below:

Middle-earth: Shadow of War Gets First Gameplay Trailer

Today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment revealed the first gameplay footage of Middle-earth: Shadow of War, the sequel to the critically acclaimed Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.

This Gameplay Walkthrough introduces viewers to the next generation of the innovative Nemesis System with the addition of Nemesis Fortresses, where players must utilize different strategies to conquer dynamic strongholds and forge their personalized Orc army. In this video, Talion and Celebrimbor, who return as the Bright Lord, must lead a fortress assault on the mountain valley of Seregost and take it from one of Sauron’s Overlords. To succeed, they will use the power of the New Ring to recruit Followers during enemy encounters—a new mechanic allowing gamers to establish entirely new stories of loyalty, betrayal, and revenge. This Gameplay Walkthrough is just one of the millions of possibilities that players will experience in Middle-earth: Shadow of War.

Last Tuesday, Sony Computer Entertainment shared a gem with the gaming world, and we’re feeling the aftershocks.  Yes, we’re in the midst of Horizon Zero Dawn release week, and you know that the Trophy Whores are talking miles about Guerilla Games new open-world action game.  The opinions differ in certain areas, but, unsurprisingly, the guys have plenty of love to throw toward Horizon Zero Dawn, which has to be an early contender for Game of the Year.  What other game has ravenous giant mechanical animals and dinosaurs?

Beyond Horizon, the Trophy Whores discuss in depth life-to-date PlayStation VR sales.  It’s safe to say that Sony’s VR headset has done much better than anticipated.  While not everyone is down with VR, or virtual reality, for those people who like to have things spelled out, overall, the Trophy Whores have many positive things to say about Sony’s VR headset.

Join the Trophy Whores as they discuss, among other things, Horizon Zero Dawn, Horizon Zero Dawn, Ghost Recon Wildlands, PlayStation Plus and Middle Earth: Shadow of War.

Middle Earth: Shadow of War Revealed

After a day of leaks and rumors, Warner Bros. has announced the Middle Earth: Shadow of War will be coming PlayStation 4(Pro support), Xbox One(Play Anywhere title), and PC. The sequel to Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, Shadow of War will continue the story of Talion and Celebrimbor, who must go behind enemy lines to forge an army and turn all of Mordor against the Dark Lord, Sauron.

Shadow of War will feature the return and expansion of the Nemesis System. The system was used as a way to track encounters with orc officers, tracking their movement through the ranks of the larger army as well as their unique strengths and weaknesses. Shadow of War is building on this with the introduction of a Follower System.
