Trophy Whores 394 – The Last Avengers of Nitro-Fueled String Ticklers

The Trophy Whores wrap up E3 2019 by discussing The Last of Us 2 and Marvel’s Avengers, as well as a litany of games prepped for 2020.  The year.  Not perfect eyesight.  Although it feels like we say this every year, the list of games for the upcoming year towers impressively over the landscape.  Psychonauts 2.  Cyberpunk 2077.  Destroy All Humans.  Darkwatch 2.

Darkwatch 2.  Never lose hope!  Capcom, do you hear us?

Join the Trophy Whores as they discuss, among other things, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, Rock Band 4, The Last of Us 2 and Microsoft.

Trophy Whores 249 – Wartime Trophy Farming

Embroiled in an intense battle, the Trophy Whores know it’s time to get serious.  The Poot crew, otherwise known as Remember the Loot, have jumped out to an early lead, and, as expected, they are running their mouths like chihuahuas.  According to the pop culture medical dictionary, they suffer from — a bad case of — diarrhea of mouth.  And much like foxes in a hen house, Remember the Loot are going nuts for the Telltale Games.

The fellas keep it short this week, but they — to borrow a line from Iyield2no1 — still bring the awesome.  Much like the high-flying, goal-scoring MVP of any Proven Gamer Rocket League game, the Trophy Whores are going to rocket-boost to victory.

Join the Trophy Whores as they discuss, among other things, Game of Thrones, Rock Band 4, Rocket League, The Walking Dead, and Virtual Reality.  The Trophy Whores aren’t sold on virtual reality.  You won’t see Donny or Alex waiting in a line at midnight to pick up Sony’s $400 VR package.  In truth, they’re more likely to be at McDonald’s at midnight, dumpster-diving for days-old, moldy chicken McNuggets.  Donny, Alex, Yield, and Tricky — have higher standards.

Trophy Whores 241 – Rock Out With Your Doc Out

This week Jeromy “Doc” Adams, founder of Sarcastic Gamer and, more importantly, Extra Life, joins the Trophy Whores for fun, chatter and tomfoolery.  Without Doc, Trophy Whores likely wouldn’t exist.  Trophy Whores started as a Community Cast podcast on Sarcastic Gamer and later became the flagship show of Proven Gamer.  Thanks to Doc, The Four Whoresmen have the opportunity to share their opinions and rants with you, an appreciated and adored listener.

The Trophy Whores make the most of their time with Doc, as they discuss games, games, and … games.  Games!  Doc, not to be confused with time-traveling genius Doc Brown, is a podcasting pro, so you are in for a real treat.  Tricky reeks of fanboy this week, but if you know Doc, then you know that he is the Brad Pitt of the podcasting world.  People love him.

Join our posse of Doc Adams (and Doc Brown) fanboys as we discuss, among other things, Grim Fandango Remastered, Until Dawn, Rock Band 4, Hitman, World of Tanks, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Trophy Whores 238 – Solid Wars: Kojima Productions Awakens

Like so many nerds, Tricky is still reeling from Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens.  He spares the details, because Alex and Yield haven’t seen it yet, and Tricky knows that they would send armies of spiders his way if he says too much; however, Tricky says it’s a good movie.  Donny doesn’t agree, but Donny’s movie taste is questionable — to say the least.

When it comes to video games, the guys have Jedi-level skills.  If you need confirmation, then ask the Remember the Loot crew.  For anyone with a short memory, as well as anyone who has repressed the memory, the Trophy Whores — Tricky and Yield — whooped the Remember the Loot team in a Rocket League grudge match.  Apparently, the guys’ Rocket League adversaries have started a new trophy competition and reward system, and they want a piece of the Trophy Whores.  Tricky, Donny, Yield and Alex will meet that challenge, and they will bring their blue, green and purple lightsabers to the fight.

These are not the opponents that you are looking for — unless you want another powerhouse beating!

Join our council of Jedi masters as we discuss, among other things, Rocket League, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Naughty Dog, Rock Band 4 and Hideo Kojima.  Mace Windu approves of our show.  Apparently, he’s also in a Rock Band quartet with Kit Fisto, Plo Koon and Qui-Gon Jinn.  To their fans, they are known as Jedi Master Overdrive.

Trophy Whores 235 – Dismember The Loot

Tricky and Yield made the Trophy Whores proud, as they topped team Remember the Loot in a Rocket League grudge match.  Way to go, fellas!  We must protect this house!!  The Trophy Whores won’t win any swimsuit competitions, but they can certainly throw down in Rocket League.  Remember the Loot?  More like Remember That Ass-Whuppin’.

This week, Tricky and Yield gloat a bit, and Donny and Alex share in their glory.  If Alex had played, then the battle would have been more one-sided.  Have you seen a polar bear fight a ferret?  It isn’t pretty.

Join our Rocket League champions, as we discuss, among other things, Mad Max, He-Man, Remote Play, World of Tanks, Rock Band 4 and PlayStation Experience.  Yield wants a Syphon Filter reboot, Bend Studio.  Please let him have it.  We’re nearing the holidays, and an official announcement would be the perfect gift!

Trophy Whores 231 – From Paris With Games

Tricky doesn’t get Horizon Zero Dawn.  To be fair, Tricky has a skewed sense of quality.  He believes that Hannah Montana The Movie, for which he has the Platinum trophy, is a good game.  The Trophy Whores often tease him about that — because he deserves it.

Horizon, developed by Guerrilla Games, has gotten a lot of attention — especially from Alex.  If you ask Alex, he will tell you that Horizon is the best thing since tubed toothpaste. Guerrilla is doing good work; Alex wants Horizon, and he is willing to buy a PlayStation 4 to play it.

Horizon is reason enough to rejoice, but the show has a milestone to announce: Iyield2no1 has surpassed 100 episodes!  It might seem like yesterday, but Yield has surpassed the century mark as a PlayStation owner who collects trophies and podcasts about it.

Join our thankful quartet of accomplished gamers and trinket seekers, as we discuss, among other things, Horizon Zero Dawn, Teslagrad, Mad Max, Ratchet and Clank, Rock Band 4, and Street Fighter V.  We’re waiting for Street Fighter V: Super Fireball Edition, which will surely be followed by Street Fighter V: Hyper Blue Fireball Edition.

Trophy Whores 225 – 197 Hours In 12 Days

Tricky likes Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and he likes it a lot.  As in, if Tricky could play The Phantom Pain or pick up a winning lottery ticket stuffed in a Spicy Chicken Sandwich (from Wendy’s), he would play The Phantom Pain.  What is wrong with him? Doesn’t he know that Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Sandwich is delicious?

We continue our “Game of the Year” debate, pitting Fallout 4 against Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.  I guess we have our frontrunners.  If Naughty Dog were releasing a new Crash Bandicoot, it would be a different story.  It would be a three-horse race, and the orange marsupial would be out in front.

Join our horned council of ardent Darth Maul fans, as we discuss, among other things, Rain, Trivia Crack, Guitar Hero Live, Rock Band 4, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Crash Bandicoot and Star Wars.

Trophy Whores 222 – Yield Is Mad For No Man’s Sky

This week, Donny pulls and a Houdini and disappears; however, we soldier on and make lemonade out of lemon meringue pie.

Despite the approach of the NFL season, we keep the football chatter to a minimum — even though we really want to come up with awesome names for our fantasy football teams!

Join our rowdy posse of football-loving fools, as we discuss, among other things, Joe Danger 2, God of War: Ascension, PlayStation Experience, Rock Band 4, Guillermo del Toro and No Man’s Sky.  In case you don’t know; Yield has high hopes for No Man’s Sky, which is being developed by the delightful people of Hello Games.  And Yield won’t let Tricky shake his passion and enthusiasm (for No Man’s Sky)!
