After many leaks and rumors, the first official trailer for Assasin’s Creed Origins was revealed. The trailer’s narrator introduced us to the beginning of the Assassins, as the brotherhood of killers was born. The playable character in the game was revealed as Bayek, who was introduced as an Egyptian sheriff.
Gameplay was then shown. Using an eagle, the trailer showed several environments before it returned to Bayek. He rode into the first village Siwa, a village of stone and clay. Bayek used the eagle to mark enemies, and survey the area. After finding his target, Bayek did some classic Assassin’s Creed platforming, as he scaled a wall before taking out an enemy with his bow. Bayek, showing off his stealth tactics, used grass for cover.
Role-playing game elements were also shown, as Bayek found and equipped a bow with better stats. After dropping in on some enemies, Bayek took to melee combat. It looked similar to old Assassin’s Creed combat, with Bayek dodging and deflecting incoming attacks.
Assassin’s Creed Origins will launch on October 27.
