Microtransactions have been at the forefront of gaming news in the recent weeks. In response to this, CD Projekt Red has gotten ahead of things with their upcoming RPG, Cyberpunk 2077. In response to a tweet saying that they were considering the”games as a service” model for Cyperpunk , CD responded by promising “no hidden catch” for the upcoming RPG.
.@PrettyBadTweets Worry not. When thinking CP2077, think nothing less than TW3 — huge single player, open world, story-driven RPG. No hidden catch, you get what you pay for — no bullshit, just honest gaming like with Wild Hunt. We leave greed to others.

With all of the negativity around in-game purchasing, it is good to see CD get ahead of this discussion. CyberPunk 2077 is currently in development.
