Guitar Hero Is BACK (Sort Of) — Stage Tour Pre-Orders Live, 90+ Songs, No Guitar Needed

The band is getting back together. RedOctane Games — founded by creators of Guitar Hero and DJ Hero — has opened digital pre-orders for Stage Tour ahead of its December 10, 2026 launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Pre-order digitally and save 10% off the $39.99 launch price.

The pitch is simple: PLAY YOUR WAY. Grab a guitar controller, a gamepad, a gaming keyboard, or dust off your old Guitar Hero / Rock Band instruments — Stage Tour supports them all, with legacy hardware compatibility stretching back to 2006 on PC and select instruments on console.

The setlist is massive: 90+ songs spanning six decades, including The Rolling Stones, Metallica, Radiohead, The Cure, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mötley Crüe, Paramore, and Olivia Rodrigo — with 61 tracks revealed so far. New Arcade 4-Lane and 5-Lane modes are built specifically for gamepads and keyboards, so no guitar is required.

There’s also a roguelite-inspired Tour campaign where one failed song sends you back to the start, plus Quickplay, Practice, accuracy-focused Judgements, and casual Karaoke. Up to four players can rock together locally, online, or cross-platform.

Want new gear? The official Stage Tour Kramer Wireless Guitar Controller bundle starts at $129.99, with two-guitar bundles, a drum kit, mics, and a CRKD x Stage Tour Gibson collection also available. The game itself features 180+ authentic in-game Gibson, Epiphone, and Kramer guitars.
