Thursday means one thing for Nintendo fans — the eShop just got a fresh batch of games, and this week’s Nintendo Download is stacked. Nintendo Switch Sports Resort headlines the drop, bringing the Wii Sports Resort magic back to Wuhu Island on Switch 2, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 landing day-and-date on Nintendo hardware, the first-ever HD-2D Final Fantasy, a native Switch 2 version of Minecraft, and some perfectly timed Halloween-week horror. Here’s everything worth your time hitting the eShop this week.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort
October 22 · Nintendo Switch 2 · $49.99
Nintendo’s big first-party play this week is a full sequel to Nintendo Switch Sports, set on Wuhu Island — the beloved Wii Sports Resort locale. It packs 12 motion-control sports plus free island exploration and a brand-new offline Island Crown mode where you climb each sport’s ranks. If you’ve got family or friends coming over this weekend, this is the one.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
October 23 · Nintendo Switch 2 · $69.99
The year’s biggest shooter lands on Switch 2 day-and-date with PS5, Xbox, and PC — a genuine rarity for Call of Duty on Nintendo hardware. The campaign follows a South Korean squad and a rogue Captain Price through a Korean Peninsula war (with Mads Mikkelsen in the cast), backed by 6v6 multiplayer and the returning DMZ extraction mode. We already covered Modern Warfare 4’s trophy situation — no PS5 Platinum this time, and no workaround.

Final Fantasy Resonance
October 22 · Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch · $49.99
The first-ever HD-2D Final Fantasy is here. Square Enix rebuilt the mobile game Brave Exvius’s first story arc into a full console RPG — classic turn-based battles, chocobos, espers, airships, and recruitable “visions” of franchise icons like Cloud, Terra, and Clive. A free demo is out now and your save carries over, so there’s zero risk in trying it.

Minecraft (Nintendo Switch 2 Edition)
October 27 · Nintendo Switch 2 · $29.99
The best-selling game of all time finally gets a native Switch 2 version, headlined by the Vibrant Visuals graphics upgrade with dynamic lighting, shadows, and volumetric fog — plus the Nintendo-exclusive Super Mario Mash-Up Pack with 15 tracks and 40 skins. Already own it on Switch? Digital owners can claim the Switch 2 Standard Edition free through the eShop until January 31, 2027, and your saves carry over.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves – Standard Edition
October 22 · Nintendo Switch 2 · $19.99
SNK’s legendary fighting series makes its Switch 2 debut, and the $19.99 Standard Edition price is the hook. The real story is the launch-day Tokyo Revengers crossover DLC — Mikey and Draken join the roster today — plus a pre-order bonus of Mai Shiranui’s classic costume. (A physical Starter Edition follows January 21, 2027.)

My Friendly Neighborhood
October 22 · Nintendo Switch 2 · $29.99
Perfect Halloween-week timing: the beloved indie horror about killer puppets from a dead kids’ TV show — fought off with letter-guns and duct tape instead of gore — hits Switch 2. The Switch 2 version includes the post-game Neighborhorde mode, and it arrives with strong credentials: “Very Positive” on Steam and a reported 83 on Metacritic.
