HoYoverse is done keeping us waiting. The studio behind Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail has opened recruitment for the Honkai: Nexus Anima Final Closed Beta, confirming the test begins on November 25, 2026, on PC, Android, and iOS — and that the full game is targeting a Spring 2027 launch. Slots are limited and handed out on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you want in, the time to sign up is right now.

That makes this the biggest Honkai: Nexus Anima news since the game was first revealed, and the clearest sign yet that HoYoverse is ready to show the world what its creature-catching adventure RPG actually plays like. The beta is the last test before launch, and HoYoverse is using it to put the game’s newest systems, its newest areas, and its newest creatures in front of players for the first time.

What Is Honkai: Nexus Anima?

Honkai: Nexus Anima is an open-world creature-catching adventure RPG, and the newest entry in HoYoverse’s Honkai universe. Players step into the role of an Animaster, an adventurer who explores the open world of Iia and forms bonds with Anima, the mysterious creatures that live there.

These are not just battle pets. HoYoverse describes Anima as creatures with their own emotions, personalities, preferences, and needs, and the bond between an Anima and a human is called a Nexus. That bond sits at the center of everything: the story, the exploration, and the combat.

The story itself starts with a world torn apart. In Iia, the Nexus has been shattered, and the Anima are the key to putting things right. Along the way, players will have to choose a side. The Covenant defends order and guards the world’s legacy, while the Unbound worships freedom and resists that control. Each faction is shaped by a different ideal, and the choice will color how players experience the world.

Combat comes in the form of Nexus Battles, one-on-one tactical fights where reading the battlefield matters as much as raw power. Victory comes from using the unique traits of your Anima to turn a fight around at the right moment, which should give the battles more texture than a simple type-advantage checklist.

What Is New in the Honkai: Nexus Anima Final Closed Beta

HoYoverse says the Final Closed Beta builds on the earlier tests in a few big ways, starting with the world itself. Players begin their journey from the town of Iia, and new areas of the region are being revealed for the first time, waiting to be explored.

There are new creatures to meet, too. The beta introduces Anima in their Chromatic forms, more juvenile Anima, and new ways for Anima to keep players company as they travel. A fresh gameplay demo, released alongside the announcement, shows off the new areas and the new creatures in action, and it is worth a watch if you are trying to decide whether to sign up.

HoYoverse is also upfront about the state of the game. The story and content in the beta are a work in progress, and everything is subject to change before launch. Player data will be wiped when the test ends, so nothing you earn or unlock in the beta will carry over. That is standard for a final closed test, but it is worth knowing before you commit your time.

Free Rewards and How to Sign Up for the Honkai: Nexus Anima Beta

Signing up is simple. Head to the official sign-up page, register your details, and wait to hear back. HoYoverse has not put a hard deadline on recruitment, but with limited slots available on a first-come, first-served basis, earlier is better.

There is also a reason to actually play once you are in. HoYoverse is giving every beta participant a guaranteed limited Eidos, plus a free matching Anima Companion for each deck. An Eidos is the Nexus form of an Anima, the powered-up state that sits at the heart of the game’s identity, so a guaranteed limited one is a genuinely nice hook for collectors.

Pre-registration is open now as well, and with the full launch set for Spring 2027, the wait after this beta should not be a long one. You can sign up for the beta and pre-register through the official Honkai: Nexus Anima website, and you can follow the game’s official social channels for updates.

Why Honkai: Nexus Anima Matters

For HoYoverse, this is a big swing into a new genre. The studio built its name on action RPGs and character-driven gacha games, from Honkai Impact 3rd to Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero. A creature-catching adventure is new territory, and it puts Honkai: Nexus Anima in the same conversation as the biggest monster-collecting games in the world.

That is a crowded space, but HoYoverse has a track record of entering crowded genres and redefining them with production values and polish that few rivals can match. The creature-catching genre has also never been hotter, and a free-to-play entry from one of the biggest studios in the business is exactly the kind of thing that can move the needle.

The timing is no accident, either. HoYoverse is expanding the Honkai brand aggressively: the studio recently announced Petit Planet, its first game for Nintendo Switch 2, arriving in 2027, with a PC release on December 4. Between that and Honkai: Nexus Anima, the company is clearly planning to be everywhere players are.

Whether the game can live up to the hype will come down to how it plays, and that is exactly what the Final Closed Beta is for. If you have been curious about HoYoverse’s take on creature-catching, November 25 is your chance to find out for yourself.
