Todd McFarlane Talks AMC’s The Walking Dead and More at NYCC 2014

At NYCC, I sat in Todd McFarlane’s panel, as he discussed about The Walking Dead figurines and more. Todd talked about how some figurines don’t look like the character. He said that he is tired of hearing people say that they don’t have the proper equipment to get the figurines to look life like. Todd said the only piece of equipment that you need is a camera to the most accurate picture of the person to create the best life like figurine, including the details to the face.

Todd announced that the will continue to make the 6 inch figurines of The Walking Dead characters, along with the 10 inch figurines that came out the week of 10/13/14. Todd also stated that they only want 5 to 6 figurines out at a time. They are also are coming out with Lego set of the prison compound that you will be able to build the compound however you want. The figurines along with the Lego set will be sold at Toys “R” Us, although he wasn’t sure which locations will have them first, McFarlane stated. They will also have HALO that are exclusive along with Assassins Creed figurines as well. He wants these figurines to have the exact details of The Walking Dead.

Spawn

In the panel, Todd spoke about Spawn 250 and that the old Spawn is back!!! A new book will be coming out in February called “Spawn Resurrection Issue #1”. Todd emphasized don’t get the comic for the story or the artwork, but get it instead because it is the first issue. This new comic series will introduce the new direction, the new attitude and a new team. That’s not all that Todd introduced, we were introduced to the new Jon “Boy” Meyers, the new artist on his team along with writer Brian Woods from DMZ.

NYCC 2014 – Arrow DLC Announced at Lego Batman 3 Panel

New York Comic Con was a little shy on the video game announcements this year, but that did not stop the Lego Batman 3 panel from being riddled with some fun information. With the help of IGN’s Greg Miller moderating TT Games developers, Arthur Parsons and Stephen Sharples (Dang it Sharples!) showed off in-game footage of playable characters like the comic book icon and CCO of DC Comics, Geoff Johns. However, the popular filmmaker and star of Comic Book Men, Kevin Smith, does not get left behind. Some of the biggest NYCC-exclusive characters reveals include the popular Darkest Knight Batman which is an iteration where Bruce Wayne is chosen to become a Green Lantern, fan-requested Solar Suit Superman, the always ironic Man-Bat, the obscure inclusion from the Batman animated series Condiment King, and of course the Warner Brothers-backed Green Loontern which features the iconic Daffy Duck donning a Green Lantern suit. Even the real-life character inclusion of Conan O’ Brien makes sense in world of Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, but that is not all that was announced at NYCC.

The biggest reveal came when the game’s developers brought out Arrow’s Stephen Amell poised to voice Oliver Queen/Green Arrow in the game and announce the “Arrow” DLC Pack based on the hit show. The Arrow DLC pack is the fourth announced DLC Pack that will be included in the season pass. TT Games detailed their season pass which includes 6 DLC Packs that in total has 40 playable characters for just $14.99. Each pack includes a unique level, characters, vehicles, and achievements. Lego Batman 3’s first 3 DLC Packs will be available on 11/11 the same day the game releases. The first wave of DLC includes the previously announced “Man of Steel” Pack, the “Dark Knight” Pack, and the “Batman 75th Anniversary” Pack.

The third iteration in the Lego Batman franchise is well on track to be the most diverse and expansive game to date. Taking Batman into space and facing off with the evil Brainiac, planet-hopping adventures provided by the Lantern worlds, and the magnitude of available characters provides the player with the signature Lego feel, fun exploration gameplay. The DLC Packs also add something new to the franchise. They bring obscure and movie-based variations of DC characters, with this the game tries to appeal to and appease DC fans from all walks of life. From the comic-book fan to a casual movie-goer, all will find something to relate to in Lego Batman 3. This Lego adventure builds its way towards players on November 11th.

WARNER BROS. TELEVISION SCREENINGS

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 9 • MAIN STAGE • 8:30 p.m.

  • John Constantine is a man waging war against the forces of darkness — from both within himself and the outside world. An irreverent, working-class con man and occult expert, he’s an experienced exorcist and demonologist with an extensive list of supernatural contacts, each with their own paranormal talents and abilities.  Following the aftermath of a tragic incident, Constantine has voluntarily checked himself into an asylum and sworn off investigating matters of the supernatural.  But with dark forces gathering power in the world, he reluctantly resumes his old life — allying himself with Manny, a rogue warrior angel; Zed, a psychic with a dark past; and Chas, Constantine’s giant childhood protector — and only friend who’s managed to stay alive  Based upon characters published by DC Entertainment, Constantine reflects the lore of the fan-favorite comic, combining noirish storytelling with the evolving mythology of John Constantine, a morally challenged character who doesn’t come down on the side of either good or evil … but ultimately might be the only thing defending us against the dark forces from beyond.  The series stars Matt Ryan (Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior), Angélica Celaya (Dallas), Charles Halford (True Detective) and Harold Perrineau (Lost) and and is executive produced by Daniel Cerone (Dexter), David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, The Dark Knight trilogy) and Mark Verheiden (Battlestar Galactica).  From Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Warner Bros. Television, Constantine will air Fridays at 10/9c on NBC, premiering October 24th.

  • Season one of The 100 saw the human race return, after a 97-year exile in space, to a wildly transformed Earth…only to discover that the human race had never truly left. Clarke found herself forced to lead a band of disposable juvenile delinquents as they faced death at every turn: from a world transformed by radiation, from the fierce Grounders who somehow managed to survive in it, and, perhaps worst of all, from themselves. Meanwhile, as The 100 fought for their lives on the ground, The Ark’s situation was no better. Both on the ground and in space, the final episodes revealed the true desperation of their plight, as our heroes risked everything just to stay alive. Noble sacrifices and heartbreaking choices changed everyone forever, and left them scattered to the wind at season’s end. The epic second season picks up with the group still scattered and desperate to be reunited. As members of The 100 and new arrivals from the Ark stake out their place in a dangerous and beautiful new world, they are confronted with the physical peril and moral dilemmas that come with reforging society. What kind of life will they build? And what will it cost them? This season’s quest will challenge them more than anything that’s come before. Hearts will be broken. Lives will be lost. Heroes will be born. From Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Alloy Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television, The 100 returns Wednesday, October 22 at 9/8c on The CW.
