FREE Update! Damned 2’s Fallen Update Brings Back the 2014 Classic Monster With Terrifying New Powers

The granddaddy of asymmetrical horror just got a new reason to be afraid of statues. 9heads Game Studios and publisher Nuntius Games have released The Fallen Update for Damned 2, the immersive asymmetrical horror game currently in Steam Early Access. It is a major free content update, and its centerpiece is the arrival of Fallen as a new playable Monster, completely reworked for the sequel.

If the name sounds familiar, there is a reason. Fallen originally appeared in the first Damned back in 2014, a game that sold over 260,000 copies and pioneered the asymmetrical horror genre before Dead by Daylight even existed. Few people realize the subgenre was basically invented in Brazil. Now Fallen is back with a completely reworked set of abilities designed to make her a constant threat throughout every match, and her whole deal is turning the map itself into a weapon.

Here is how she hunts. Fallen uses statues and the environment to amplify her presence and control the space around her. During a match, she creates statues that begin stalking players, and as more traps are triggered, the number of statues grows. She can take control of each statue individually, switching between them and teleporting across the map to hunt Survivors down. The nightmare twist: statues stop moving whenever they are being watched. Every match becomes a tense battle for attention, where looking away at the wrong moment is the last mistake you make. On top of that, she can raise pillars that block pathways and restrict escape routes, and hurl boulders that knock Survivors down and leave them briefly vulnerable. Mobility, overwhelming presence, environmental control: Fallen does not just chase you, she redesigns the arena until running feels pointless.

But The Fallen Update is not just one monster. It also lets you play with or against AI-controlled Survivors, which means you no longer need to assemble a full group before jumping into a match. Solo players and small groups can finally just play. There is a new wooden planks system that lets blockades go up across passages and rooms, forcing Survivors to find a crowbar and break through to keep escaping. The user interface has been completely overhauled for a cleaner look and more intuitive navigation. And for the collectors, there are two new flashlight skins and new banners unlockable through gameplay progression, plus the usual stack of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements.

For anyone new to the game: Damned 2 pits four brave Survivors against one relentless Monster in a fight for survival. The Survivors explore a sinister environment searching for keys and objects to escape while the Monster lurks, ready to haunt anyone who dares challenge the darkness. Keys, items, and puzzles spawn in random locations every match, so no two games play the same, and the puzzles are built to force cooperation. Communication is not optional. It is survival.

Damned 2 is available now on Steam Early Access for $13.99, and The Fallen Update is free for all owners. With Halloween less than two weeks away, an asymmetrical horror game dropping a free content update with a returning classic monster is about as well-timed as it gets.
