The Going Merry Has Landed — One Piece Is FINALLY Coming to Fortnite

Fortnite One Piece official teaser art — the Going Merry emerging from the fog

After years of rumors, leaks and survey teases, it is finally official — One Piece is coming to Fortnite. Epic Games confirmed the crossover during its hyped reveal at 2 PM ET on Saturday, October 24, and the Straw Hat Pirates will headline the game’s next mini-season, Treasure Hunters, starting Sunday, November 1. This is the one Fortnite fans have been shouting about for years, the collaboration that always felt inevitable and somehow never arrived — until now. Set your sails, Proven Gamer crew: the Going Merry has landed.

For anyone who has followed the endless wish lists, this lands like a cannon shot. One Piece is not just another anime licensing deal passing through the Item Shop for a weekend. It is the headline act of an entire pirate-themed mini-season, with a ship, a foggy teaser and a month of adventure built around the hunt for treasure. Epic did not quietly slide this into a patch note. Epic made a moment of it.

The Reveal

Epic had spent days building toward a big October 24 moment at 2 PM ET, and players who were in the game felt it happen live. A sudden “glitch” interrupted the action and played the reveal trailer, the kind of in-game interruption Fortnite loves when it wants the whole community talking at once. The teaser that followed gave fans exactly the image they needed: the Going Merry, the Straw Hat Pirates’ beloved first ship, pushing out of thick fog like it had sailed straight out of the Grand Line and into Fortnite’s world.

Another teaser shot pushed the pirate fantasy even further, showing the Battle Bus reimagined as a full pirate ship. That is the season in a single frame — familiar Fortnite, completely recast as a high-seas adventure. And the Going Merry’s cheerful figurehead quietly answered one of the fandom’s biggest questions before anyone had to ask it out loud. That ship, that design, means this collaboration is with the One Piece anime, not the Netflix live-action series. The anime look is the look, and for longtime fans that distinction matters enormously.

Treasure Hunters

Hours before the reveal even happened, Fortnite had already named what comes next. The new mini-season is called Treasure Hunters, and Epic is billing it as “the greatest adventure of all time” — a bold tagline, but if any crossover has earned a little swagger, it is this one. Chapter 7 Season 4, along with the current Fortnitemares festivities, wraps up on November 1. After downtime, Treasure Hunters takes over and runs for roughly a month, serving as the bridge into whatever the next chapter holds.

That timing gives every player a clear mission for this final week: finish the current Battle Pass now. Whatever is still sitting unfinished in there will not wait around while a pirate season sails past. Proven Gamer has covered this game since its earliest map shake-ups, back in our report on New Map Locations Highlight Fortnite Battle Royale Update, and the lesson has never changed — when a Fortnite season ends, it ends. Grind out those last levels, claim those last rewards, and be ready when the fog rolls in on November 1.

One Piece Is One Crew Among Several

Here is the part that makes Treasure Hunters even wilder: One Piece is the headline act, but it is not sailing alone. The in-game news feed has been showing off a fleet of pirate crew flags — Jolly Rogers for a whole roster of crews dropping into the season. Fortnite originals Jones and Hope are flying their own colors, there is a Peely crew in the mix, and the musical contingent is stacked, with A$AP Rocky and Lil Uzi Vert represented alongside Hatsune Miku, who returns with Kasane Teto teased in Sprite form.

Read that list again. Anime legends, rap stars, virtual singers and Fortnite’s own heroes, all hoisting pirate flags in the same season. That is not a crossover event so much as a full-blown festival, and it reframes what Treasure Hunters really is: a crowded, chaotic pirate season where the Straw Hats are the main event in a lineup that would be headline news all by itself. One Piece is not the whole season — it is the crew everyone will be chasing.

Why This One Is the Big One

Fortnite’s anime resume is already absurd. Dragon Ball, Naruto, My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen have all rolled through, several of them more than once, wave after wave of skins and powers. Through all of it, One Piece was the glaring absence — arguably the most-requested crossover in the game’s entire history, the name at the top of every survey, every comment section and every fan-made concept. Its arrival closes the last great gap in Fortnite’s anime collection.

The scale of One Piece explains why the demand never died down. Eiichiro Oda’s manga has been running for nearly 30 years, the anime is closing in on 1,200 episodes, and the Netflix live-action adaptation pushed Luffy and the Straw Hats in front of an enormous new audience. The road to this announcement was its own saga: a player survey earlier this year that set the fandom alight, months of leaks, a mysterious pirate chest appearing on the island, and Madrid subway posters last week that briefly sent fans spiraling when October 20 reporting suggested the season might be a more generic anime affair. Epic even teased everyone itself, replying to a fan’s collaboration wish list on X on October 6 with the image of a “take a number” ticket. After all that waiting in line, Luffy’s number has finally been called — and honestly, the timing could not be better.

What We Still Don’t Know

Now for the discipline, because a reveal this exciting breeds rumors at record speed. Epic has not yet confirmed which members of the Straw Hat crew are actually coming, so any full skin list circulating right now is speculation, not fact. We also do not know whether the One Piece cosmetics will live in the Battle Pass or land in the Item Shop, we do not know the exact day the One Piece content drops inside the mini-season — launch day, November 1, or later in November are both still on the table — and we have heard nothing official about Devil Fruit-style gameplay items shaking up matches.

Those answers matter, and more official detail is expected in the coming days as Treasure Hunters gets closer. Until Epic says it plainly, treat every leaked roster and rumored bundle with a healthy dose of sea salt. What is confirmed is more than enough to be hyped about.

The PlayStation Angle

And here is the good news for our home crowd: PlayStation players are not getting a lesser version of any of this. Fortnite is free-to-play on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, with full crossplay, so the season arrives the same day, November 1, with the same content, for everyone. That free-to-play promise has been part of Battle Royale’s DNA since the early days, as we covered back in Fortnite Battle Royale Going Free to Play, and it is why a crossover this big can land everywhere at once.

For a PlayStation audience that grew up playing One Piece games on Sony hardware, there is something fitting about this moment. The Straw Hats have been adventuring on PlayStation consoles for generations of players, and now they are dropping into the biggest game on the planet on the very console where so many of those fans will meet them. November 1 cannot come fast enough. We will see you on the Going Merry.
