There is a knock at your door. The sun outside will scorch the eyes from your skull, so you cannot leave — but the voice begging to come in sounds human. It looks human. It even smells human. Are you sure? That is the entire, awful, brilliant premise of No, I’m Not a Human, and in 2027 console players finally get to live the nightmare: publisher CRITICAL REFLEX and developer Trioskaz have announced the anxiety-horror hit is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via the Microsoft Store — including day one on Xbox Game Pass.
The announcement came during the ID@Xbox x IGN Showcase on October 20, as part of a triple-header of CRITICAL REFLEX console news. The console version will include the full game plus all content additions to date, so console players are getting the definitive version on day one.
Here is the setup. The world is ending — not with a bang but with sunlight. The sun has become deadly, scorching anyone caught outside during the day, and the only refuge is the night. But the night belongs to the Visitors: shapeshifting creatures that look, talk, and smell exactly like ordinary people, knocking on doors and begging for shelter. Your job is to decide who gets in. Interrogate your guests. Look for the signs — the subtle wrongness in a smile, a story that does not quite add up, eyes that linger a half-second too long. Let the right ones in and they might help you survive. Let a Visitor in and it will kill everyone you have sheltered. Turn everyone away and isolation will do the job just as surely.
What makes it special is that there are no jump scares carrying the experience — the horror is entirely social. Every conversation is a stress test. The game weaponizes politeness, empathy, and doubt: the longer you talk to someone, the more human they seem, and the harder it becomes to do what must be done. It is Papers, Please by way of The Thing, and it burrows into your head in a way few horror games manage. The PC release in September 2025 earned a devoted following fast — more than 9,000 reviews on Steam sitting at roughly 93% positive, with players praising how every single choice feels perilous. Our take: we have never played anything that makes opening a front door feel this frightening.
A few practical notes. The game is priced at $14.99 on Steam (where it is currently discounted), so expect a similar price point on consoles. It is Steam Deck Verified with 60 achievements on PC, which bodes well for a full trophy list on PlayStation — and given how many endings and hidden visitor encounters the game hides, completionists should brace themselves. The console versions arrive in 2027 with no firmer window yet; per the announcement, the Xbox versions (including Game Pass) are confirmed alongside PS5 and Switch, with the PC Microsoft Store version rounding out the release.
This is the third CRITICAL REFLEX console story this week, alongside Mouthwashing’s October 29 console date and the Buckshot Roulette PS5/Switch announcement — and frankly, the publisher is on an absurd hot streak. Indie horror is having a moment, and CRITICAL REFLEX has quietly become one of the most important names in it. If you have been sleeping on their catalog, 2027 is your wake-up call.
Until then: stay inside. Lock your doors. Close the blinds. And whatever you do — check the eyes.
