You Can Play 007 First Light for FREE — Starter Pack Is Live on PC and Xbox Right Now

007 First Light — James Bond in hand-to-hand combat

007 First Light just got a whole lot easier to try. IO Interactive has launched a free Starter Pack for the James Bond action game, and it is available now on PC and Xbox Series X|S, with the PlayStation 5 version arriving on November 10, 2026. If you have been curious about the new 007 game but not ready to commit to a full purchase, you can now play its opening for nothing.

According to the original IO Interactive announcement, the Starter Pack is a substantial slice of the game, not a bare demo. It includes the opening two missions, Chasing the White Mask and The Sky’s the Limit, with full access to the loadout, equipment, abilities, gadgets and skill tree, plus a mission replay feature. That means you can experiment with builds, test gadgets and replay the missions to chase a better run before you ever spend a penny.

What the 007 First Light Starter Pack Includes

The two missions in the Starter Pack are the game’s opening chapters, and they are designed to show what 007 First Light is about. Players step into the shoes of a young James Bond, a 26-year-old pilot turned MI6 operative, in an original origin story that follows his rise to become the world’s most famous secret agent. It is a fresh take on Bond, not a retelling of a film, and the Starter Pack gives you the first two chapters of that story free.

What makes the Starter Pack more than a demo is how much of the game’s systems it unlocks. Full access to the loadout, equipment, abilities, gadgets and skill tree means you are playing with the real progression systems, not a locked-down taster. The mission replay feature adds to that, letting you go back and try a different approach, whether that means a louder entrance or a quieter one.

And if you decide to upgrade, nothing is wasted. Progress made in the Starter Pack carries over to the full game, so the time you spend learning the systems and unlocking skills in the free version is time well spent. That is the detail that turns a free trial into a genuine on-ramp, because players who try it and love it do not have to start over.

007 First Light Starter Pack Arrives With Big Discounts

The Starter Pack does not arrive alone. IO Interactive has put the full game on sale to match, with 40 percent off on PC and Xbox Series X|S, and 50 percent off on PlayStation 5. The Starter Pack itself is the same on every platform: it is the opening two missions, with your progress carrying over, and it is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

The timing is deliberate. The PlayStation 5 Starter Pack arrives on November 10, the same day the 50 percent PlayStation discount kicks in, which makes that date the moment the whole offer lines up across every platform. For anyone who has been waiting for a reason to try 007 First Light, a free opening plus half off the full game is a hard combination to ignore.

There is also a PlayStation Plus Premium option. PS Plus Premium subscribers can access a one-hour timed trial of the full game, in addition to the free Starter Pack, which gives PlayStation players two ways to sample the game before buying. The timed trial is a different offer from the Starter Pack, but together they make the PlayStation side of the launch especially generous.

007 First Light: A Young Bond, A New Origin Story

007 First Light is IO Interactive’s first James Bond game, and it is built around a version of the character we have never seen before. The game follows a 26-year-old Bond, a former aircrew member who is recruited into MI6 and must learn the trade of espionage from the ground up. It is an origin story in the truest sense, and the Starter Pack’s opening missions are where that story begins.

The full game is built around choice in how you approach a mission, with the loadout, gadgets, abilities and skill tree all feeding into that freedom. The Starter Pack gives you the tools to try that freedom out, and the mission replay feature is there so you can see how a different loadout changes the same mission. It is a smart way to sell a game whose biggest strength is player choice, because choice is something you have to experience to appreciate.

Looking ahead, the game is also coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on March 18, 2027, which means this is a long-term platform for the game rather than a one-and-done release. The Starter Pack is the first step in that wider rollout, and it arrives at a moment when the game is also being talked about as one of the year’s notable releases. The bottom line is simple. 007 First Light’s Starter Pack is free, it is substantial, and your progress carries over. Download it on PC or Xbox Series X|S today, or on PlayStation 5 from November 10, and see whether a young James Bond earns a place in your library.
