Fabletown is about to get a fresh coat of neon. Telltale (LCG Entertainment) and PM Studios have released a brand-new story trailer for The Wolf Among Us Remastered, “the definitive edition of Telltale’s acclaimed choice-driven thriller,” and it launches October 29, 2026 — nine days from now. The trailer debuted during today’s ID@Xbox x IGN Showcase, and it gave fans their first look at Bigby Wolf’s redesigned full werewolf form: broad muzzle, bared fangs, glowing red eyes, and a mean streak a mile wide.
This is not a quick upscale job. The Wolf Among Us Remastered rebuilds Telltale’s 2013 episodic detective thriller — the one based on Bill Willingham’s Eisner-winning FABLES comics — for modern platforms, with enhanced environments, improved character fidelity, upgraded animation, and reworked audio. You get the full five-episode original story, where Sheriff Bigby Wolf investigates a string of murders among the fairy-tale exiles hiding in New York City, and every choice you make comes back to bite you.
And then there are the extras, which is where this edition earns the “definitive” label. Headlining them is Noir Mode, a brand-new black-and-white presentation that “transforms the acclaimed thriller into a classic black-and-white experience.” For a hard-boiled fairy-tale detective story, noir is not just a filter — it is the aesthetic the game was born for. On top of that, the remaster includes five fully playable Lost Scenes — cut content restored and made playable — a gallery of more than 100 pieces of art, and over an hour of behind-the-scenes developer interviews. The publishers are also teasing in-game secrets for the truly obsessive.
The launch details: October 29, 2026, digital only at launch, on PlayStation 5, Xbox One (playable on Xbox Series X|S via backward compatibility), and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. One platform note — the Nintendo Switch version has been delayed to a later date, and physical retail editions will not arrive until early 2027. Pricing is $24.99, with a 20% launch discount for new players and an additional discount for digital owners of the original game. If you already own the 2013 version digitally, you are getting rewarded for your loyalty.
Can’t wait nine days? There is a free demo: the complete first episode, “Faith,” is playable free on Steam during Steam Next Fest, which runs through October 26. That is more than enough to remind you why this story lands so hard — or to discover it fresh if you missed it the first time around.
The timing is strategic, too. The Wolf Among Us 2 is slated to continue Bigby’s story in 2027, and this remaster is the perfect on-ramp: five episodes, the full arc, the definitive presentation, and then the sequel waiting on the other side. If you have ever wondered what the fuss about Telltale’s golden era was about, this is your answer, rebuilt and re-released in the best shape it has ever been in.
